    TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Research and respond to requests for information.
    • Process development permits. 
    • Prepare agendas and meeting minutes. 
    • Prepare public notices and legal advertisements. 
    • Prepare narrative staff reports and written decisions.
    • Provide technical assistance and information to the public.
    • Develop and maintain various types of tracking systems. 
    • General office duties.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Knowledge of planning principles and practices. 
    • Knowledge of administrative procedures.
    • Knowledge of legislative procedures.
    • Basic map reading skills.
    • Above average writing skills.
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines, conduct research, problem solve, work independently. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to learn, apply, and retain a wide variety of information. 

    EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

    • Experience or education in urban planning, political sciences, public policy or; 
    • Five or more years of consistent administrative experience or;
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
